About The game
GAME CURRENTLY IN DEVELOPMENT FOR PC
Developed using Game Maker: Studio 2, Feast for Worms delivers challenging and rewarding gameplay with randomized power-ups, rogue-like elements, and high replayability.
CURRENTLY IN DEVELOPMENT
Since Feast for Worms is in very early development, the game is constantly evolving. However, there are two simple rules I've followed through development:
1) Make the game challenging yet rewarding.
2) Each playthrough must be different in some way to increase replayability.
Following these two simple rules, the game has taken on a life of its own. Through trial and error and happy accidents, Feast for Worms has become something I'm very proud of and will continue to work on for many months to come.
WHAT TO EXPECT
NUMEROUS ENEMY TYPES
There are currently 8 different enemy types (excluding bosses) with plans to add up to 40 different enemies in total. Enemies will scale in difficulty with the player so they always present a challenge.
Each level ends with a scramble to stay alive as the level's Boss is dealt with. Currently there is one Boss with plans to add a different Boss for each level.
There are currently 12 items in game with plans to add up to 50 new items. Each item provides a buff, special ability, or friendly companion to strengthen your character.
While companions are not currently in game, there are plans to add creatures and companions to help even the fight.
Feast for Worms will deliver over 8 different levels, each with their own style and enemy types. Item spawns, chests, and certain parts of the level are randomized to encourage exploration and multiple playthroughs.
As you gain levels and experience, your character will become more powerful through power ups and levels. However, the enemies also become stronger, spawn in greater numbers, and are even more deadly the further you progress.
WHERE'S THE GAME HEADED?
As stated above, the game is in very early development. However, there are plans to add everything mentioned above and hopefully more. As a first-time indie developer working alone on this project, some aspects of the game come together quickly while others take more time to complete.
